11.20.2011, a field of 87,000-strong assembled at the Mall of Asia to support one of the biggest advocacy run ever, A Run For The Pasig River.
Supported by Boardwalk, and its Boardwalk Para Sa Kalikasan campaign, with the leadership of the ABS-CBN Foundation, the event promotes a safe and clean Pasig River and aims to bring back its former glory. The goal of this public-spirited undertaking is to create awareness about what needs to be done until the river is clean.
Supported by the biggest and the brightest personalities in show business like Derek Ramsay, Jake Cuenca, and Matteo Guidicelli who set the pace for the Boardwalk family for the 3K run, the Run For The Pasig River was able to provide inspiration and motivation for others to do their part and make a difference for the environment.
Also among the participants were Boardwalk's President Bernardo Madera, and Vice President Imelda Madera, as they led the Boardwalk volunteers in running for the charitable undertaking.
Boardwalk prepared tents that the runners can go to after the fun run. There were medical check-ups made available, photo walls, freedom walls, and other freebies that made the event even more exciting than it already was.
ABS-CBN also provided a program after the event, much to the delight of the runners.
We are encouraging each and every one to go beyond this advocacy run and continue helping the ABS-CBN Foundation and the Boardwalk to save the river and make this a more beautiful world.
There's no better way to start than today. Together, we can save the Pasig River and make a difference.
